Moving house is great way of sorting through all your possessions, seeing what to pack and take with you, and what has been sat gathering dust since you moved in.
Deciding what to take
Your first step in to decide what you are taking with you and it is a good idea to have a checklist of items, so you can tick them off once they have been packed away.
From this you can work out how much packing materials such as boxes, packing tapes and bubble wrap you are going to need.
With boxes, it is best not to fill them with too many heavy things, so they are able to be lifted easily. Do not be sparring with the packing tape, as this will keep the box together.
If you have gaps between your items within the boxes, it is a good idea to fill them with newspaper or polystyrene chips to make everything less likely to move about whilst in transit.
You will also need to identify which of your belongings are going to need more packing as they are fragile items such as ornaments or collectables. With these, you will need to wrap them so there is no movement around them, and put the somewhere separate to everything else to protect them.
